Box Scraper Weight and Size Limitations for Compact Tractors?

I am looking to purchase a box spreader for my Kubota. The B7500 manual gives a down-weight (W1) rating of 375 lbs for box scrapers, and a much higher lift (W0) rating of 660 lbs. It also specifies a maximum width of 54 inches. Tread width for my tractor is 40 inches (so says the manual).

The unit which most closely matches these specs is the LandPride BB1548, at 382 lbs. However, this is not in stock at my nearby dealership, and is quoted rather steep at $825 plus shipping. Very few 54 inch units are marketed anymore. So my in-stock (and discounted) alternatives are a backdated BB0548 (at 277 pounds) or a backdated BB1560 (428 lbs, 60 inches).

My prime purpose is to maintain 1/4 mile of gravel lane twice a year, and occasionally clear some turf for a garden plot.

Considering the general preference for a beefy unit, how conservatively does Kubota rate its hydraulics? What are the negatives of a box scraper on the wide side?

Are there any simple mods that will up the ratings of my 3PH?

Note that I'm not locked in to any brand or dealership, so I'd be happy to hear any comments (short of getting a larger tractor, which will have to wait a few years yet).

The rating on the 3pt hitch is whatever it states as the max lift capacity. The W0 measurement IIRC is the max amount you can put on each lift arm. The actual hitch capacity should be about double that. So basically you shouldn't have any trouble with a 4-5' box blade. Kubota basis their implement limitations on overall performance, not the max the tractor can handle, and they are pretty conservative on most things. I would recommend a box blade between 400-450lbs in the 48-54" range. A 60" might work, but it would be a hard pull if you load it really full.
