This Auger came with land we bought in 1994 and has just sat till these last few weeks when we have unsuccessfully been trying to figure out how it would hook up.

It is a Danus Digger model F2, serial no.1106 and has Timken tapered roller dearings.

If anyone knows how old it is, etc. or how to hook it up it would be much appreciated.

Thanks, Ed

Could be as old as the late '40s. That model you have only fit old Ford tractors such as the 8N, NAA, etc

Attached is the original sales brochure with some pics of how it mounts. I doubt it could be easily adapted to your Kubota.

Thanks, those pics help a lot. It a lot like the one shown but the toplink is a little different.

bullbreaker, That is a lot of money for an auger that old. If we could sell ours for 2/3s that price we could just buy a new one that is made for 3-point hitches.

that faded yellow paint makes me think its a danuser PH digger.

It wouldnt bee to hard to convert just make a new U frame and swan neck for it and have at it. THose old Danusers are hard to beat. Ive changed a few over from that frame over to a madern frame. some FOrd Collectors really like them. THe gear box is a car rearend and super tough. I know an old Farmer that wore out 3 frames to one gear box building fences for others in the winters.

I am inclined to agree that it is a old Danuser and sent them an e-mail so we shall see what they say.

Taylortractornut, I am interested in just how you converted it. It sound like you get rid of the frame and just keep the gearbox, driveshaft, and the auger its self and make a new frame for it, correct? I hadn't thought of that. I will think about it, might see if there is anyone, a collector or someone else who would buy it and then get a new one.

Just another FYI, the modern equivalent of that unit (Danuser F8) sells for about $2600. Same gear box and auger, just the modern frame as mentioned before. Not sure if that matters to your decision, but Danusers are BIG money.

BTW, the Ford/Dearborn unit in the ads I posted is a Danuser. They made a few things for Ford such as augers, scrape blades, post drivers, etc.

WOW! That is a lot of money for an anger.

I think it is a Danuser. There is a 6' Dearborn sickel bar mower, a Ferguson spring tooth, a back blade, a two bottom plow, and a belt driven saw that also came with the tractor (a Massy Ferguson I think, that had a cracked block) so it sounds like someone got a complete settup in the early 50s.
