Thanks to everyone for the assistance and compliments on a good deal. Just happened to look on Craig's List and there the were. Also feels good because I'm semi-unemployed (no gov't assistance here) at the moment and will do some farming for sustenance and if works out well sell some veggies too. My long-deceased Grandpa was a farmer, butcher, and idol. Told my > 50 yrs. wife, that she has to wear a bra-less t-shirt and 'RUN' down to the end of the drive when ppl beep their horns....LMAO. I couldn't "run" a third of the way. Her sister said I needed to buy her some balloons first. All because, years ago, my step father, now 80, would stop at a place that sold corn (on cobs b4 the gov't decided to burn food), near Flemington, NJ; where a rather well-endowed young lady would run down to the roadside stand when ppl beeped their horns. He went back religiously for corn on the cob. I'm not sure why, the corn was never very good for human consumption. Always, tough like feed corn. Hope the moderator's don't object, while ya'll laugh at personal "images."

Of course, at this point I'm in for $800 or so in seeds, pots, carts, indoor plant lights, fuel, etc to get somethings started. but of course it hasn't stopped raining in NE PA, so everything is mud. Although different, but next to and down hill from pastures, 2 horses can generate more mud from wet grass than a food processor set on high to make Pesto.

Again, thank's to all for your input, and Mark for the owners manual pdf. on Ford 101 plows.

I'm ALWAYS one of the guys that spends $20 in lottery tickets, and wins $2. So a great deal feels great.

Hope you had a chuckle or two,
regards,
Steve

Did you ever find any more information about the offset of the lower links? Since the offset is not fixed, can be adjusted by the lever on the front, I thought it might be to adjust how straight it is behind the tractor. I have a three bottom 101 also and still don't have a good understanding of that adjustment.

Bowling Green, Ky's Craigslist is deplorable. 2 chickens and a donkey for sale is the norm. Move to Craigslist Lexington, Ky and about 125 miles east and it is pretty normal. Ken Sweet

Any way, I found a "10 year old" but clearly unused King Kutter Spring cultivator

Post a pic of the spring cultivator in action please...I can't figure out for the life of me what that thing is supposed to do.

Ads usually say $1 until you call then the price changes. Ken Sweet

That usually happens after you make the drive and get there and start talking!! :confused2: What happened to honest folks selling stuff? I have always been straight up selling stuff. And I do have some nice beach front property for rent. Nice cabin right next to the water and lovely view-- well that's until the flood waters go down:confused2:... Cabin on the Cache River, AR is almost flooting away!

Eric,

I received the 101 owners manual (pdf) from a fellow 'lister., but haven't gone through it yet. The setup can be found here with research. From a pure novice at this point, it involves raising your rear right wheel on blocks, then adjusting the bottom plow lever up or down, so that the plows rest level. At least you have used yours at this point. It will be another few weeks here as will still have frost possible.

We've had a lot of rain, but fortunately, now flooding. Bless you all.
So far my one and only adventure of Craig's list was a very positive one.
Actually a better price when I made an offer. My son, in Philly, PA has had many a Craig's
list adventure, but usually involves potential buyers not showing up.
I always had a 100 buy and sell rating on Ebay, until some clown in VA mad a purchase, with the USPS on size shipping rate listed in the pre-sale posting. Then once they won the item, refused to pay for it or the shipping, then when I complained to Ebay the supported the buyer. As a seller, they now have you locked into Paypal ONLY, the buyer gets the last word and a seller can't leave negative feedback for a buyer. This clown has about 25% neg feedback, that was deleted by Ebay. So I moved on to Craig's list.
regards,
Steve
