Hey guys, I'm looking for a york rake for my tractor (03 JD 990). I want something 7ft wide. I found a King Kutter 7ft that supposidly is brand new for $600. Is this a good deal? Also, is a wheel kit worth the extra $$ ? This will be used for driveways, spreading dirt, and cleaning up twigs and other small amounts of brush from time to time. Thanks a bunch!

Thats probabally not a bad deal, but if you shop around on your local c-list, you should be able to find something cheaper. Allthough it may not look "brand-new".

And 7' is kinda an odd size. 6' seems to be the most common around here on c-list and they fetch anywhere from $250-$400 depending on brand and condition. Actually I just sold a JD 8' rake WITH wheels last year for $450

And as to wether the wheels are worth the extra $$$, that depends on how much extra $$$. Any more than $100 and I'd probabally make my own. But that depends on wether you are the DIY type or not. But the wheels ARE pretty handy. Especially when doing yard work removing leaves and sticks and you dont want to damage the lawn too bad. And also for leveling gravel in the driveway the wheels are nice.

Ok thanks guys, reason I'm thinking a 7ft is because the tractor itself is just about 6ft wide so I'd like to have some leeway on either side. I'm thinking I'd like wheels, but I haven't found any with wheels close to me.

Upon further looking, $600 probabally isnt really a good deal. Especially if when new, they come with a warrenty. But I am not sure if they do or not. It appears that they probabally paid $600+tax and are wanting NEW price for it even though it has sat. If it were me, I'd just buy a new one unless you can talk them down to at least $100.

King Kutter Yard Rake

And the wheel kit is an additional $239

Ok thanks, guess I'll keep looking. I'd ultimately like a 7ft landpride with wheels and a scraper blade. Looking to spend no more then $700 though.

In the words of Smokey Robinson "You better shop around" :D

Cheesy I know, but I think it's the sun.. First time I've seen in almost two weeks.

Not even remotely close to a good deal. Available at your local TSC (yes, made by King Kutter) for $499+tax.

CountyLine Landscape Rake, 7 ft. - 2188414 | Tractor Supply Company

I thought countryline was a brand of their own, NOT made by KK. But I could be wrong here.

TSC USED to carry KK, then went to countryline. Most of the stuff is very similar and still ~the same price as the KK stuff they carried before. KK is well known. I cant see why they would want to drop them and go to a lesser know brand if it is indeed made by KK:confused2:

But I do agree, Shop around.
