    Default Middelbuster/subsoiler combo?

I've been looking to get a middle buster, and was planning on a subsoiler later, but I see in the TSC blue book they have a combo. Knowing the combo items always compromise something, does anyone have any experience with this setup? Does it do both jobs well (or at all)?

Do a search of TBN on this implement.

There have been cases where it turned into a pretzel and others where the owner was pleased with its operation.

    Hi Fred,
Things to consider before plunking down your hard earned simoleons on the TSC model of the month: How much does your tractor weigh and is it 2 or 4wd R1/R4 or turfs? I have a 3 year old County Line SS and am very happy with it on a 32hp, 4wd, 5000# (with FEL on) machine with R1s. I think it's more heavily built than the yellow combo and definitely heavier built than the orange one. You may want to go with a heavier built implement if you're approaching or above the mid point of the Cat1 size.

I bought this one 2 weeks ago. Haven't use it much but have sunk it full depth in sod yard close to tree and pulled up 3" roots with no problem, this was with middle buster shovel on it. It comes with the shovel on it and the ripper tooth mounted to the back side. Only 2 issues I found to work around are the 3 pt lift pins are way to narrow to fit my quick hitch, and they use 3/8" carriage bolts to hold the tooth on, spin when I tried to take it off. Ripper tooth & shovel both need 7/16" or 1/2" plow bolts to hold fit in the square hole.
My tractor is 3000 lb. 27 HP. I don't think I can break it, but just a matter of getting fit up to Quick Hitch and correct bolts.

I used that TSC combo to put in the landscaping for my new house 6 years ago with a kubota B7510HST (21 hp engine, 17 hp pto). No problems with the implement.

Thanks, guys.. I can pull it with my 29 HP tractor (only 1500 lbs. though). I'm thinking I may go have TSC order one for me. They don't stock them around here.

I have the TSC sub-soiler and middle-buster combo. Using it with a 24hp tractor in black clay soil. It has worked well for me, especially for laying irrigation tubing. But, I know how this clay works, and only use it when he moister level is correct to work the soil. Bone-dry clay would break the tool because it isn't all the heavy duty, IMHO. It didn't cost a whole lot, and I would buy it again.

Check the depth you can attain with the combo. Their middle buster (only) unit will not go anywhere near as deep as their subsoiler unit, but I'm not sure of the combo unit. You may find you need the deeper capability some day.

I have the middle buster only and it does not go deep enough for me. Just saying.

I have a General Implements combo and it is a very useful tool. It works great behind the JD3720.
    My Fleet:
