I am new to this forum. I have an Agric tiller for my JD 1010 but can't figure out what model it is or even what decade it's from. It is light blue, has a gear box with different gears you can put in to change the speed, has 5 rows of tines and is 48" outside measurement. I have been able to replace the tines on it and rebuild the driveshaft but would like to know how to properly maintain the rest of it. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Bushman

Welcome to TBN. How about a picture of your tiller. Someone will likely identify it for you.

:welcome: to TBN! I have an Agric AL50 but mine looks a lot different. I completely rebuilt mine since I salvaged it from a barn fire. I replaced all but 1 bearing, all the seals and gaskets, and rebuilt the slip clutch. I don't know for sure on your model number but parts are pretty easy to get, I got most all of them from either Napa auto parts (bearings/gasket maker) and Kubota (Gaskets/seals/slip clutch disks). In all, i think I got under $250 in it and that was a full out restoration with all new paint and everything. For maintanance, I just check the oil level in the gear box and the side box with the chain plus grease rotating parts.

Thanks for the reply but would still like to know what model this is. What kind of oil is used in the gearbox and chain housing and how much?
