Just finished refurb of 3 point sprayer it has a hypro 6 roller pump my question is when i shut off all the manifold valves the pressure drops to 0 psi it does build pressure up to 40 psi with the spray wand open, no liquid goes to bypass if i shut off all the maniflod valves. should a roller pump build more than 40 psi at 540rpm,should not all the output bypass if the valves are shut off

I have a Delvan pump. I don't think itgets above 40 psi with everything closed. I have to twist the pressure regulator (out/less pressure) to get it to recirculate in the tank.

Look on ebay or craigslist for used one with good pump and tank, building from scratch is expensive, bought mine on ebay 65 gal. 3 pt hitch, with wand and pump,(250) was working, another 100 cash to that for boom and other components still a big savings over scratch build

I dont know if that's enough pressure. I run a 7 roller hypro pump on my 60g 10' boom, 40 psi while spraying wth 7 11004 nozzles, easy. The regulator is holding it down by several psi at 40. You need atleast 20 psi on, 30 is better.

Wldlife, watch craigslist. They might be few and far between, but they are out there. I got my lil 60g 10' fimco sprayer for $300 with the pump. New fimcos are $500 or 600 + a hundred (or a few hundred for a good one) for the pump. Dont think you can build one much cheaper.

I built a 60' 200g sprayer, hydraulic booms and electric solenoids for the boom. Time I was done, I might have saved $500 over a new sprayer. Not enough to pay for the time I spent on it.

The size of your return/ recirculate hose can also play a big role in the amount of pressure you have.
