Limited CAT 1 and CAT 1

So sence CAT O seems to be preatty much dead, and a lot of the new class of subs comming with a smaller CAT1, maby its time for a new size. Maby a CAT .5? Maby something a bigger CAT O tractor could use, and a smaller CAT 1 tractor could also use. Have a swapable pin/bushing setup. Just a thought.

Are the pin sizes on a limited Cat 1 the same as a conventional Cat 1?

Does "limited" refer to range of motion, max height, etc. only?

I think it has been mentioned one way or the other, but the limitation is in the range of motion and weight capacity. The Limited Cat 1 hitch on the 2210 is a Cat one hitch for all dimesions of the ASAE spec. JD did take a hint from one of the only problems with the BX hitch--max width/spread of lift arms on the BX was too tight for some standard Cat 1 implements, and that's resolved with the 2210's lift. I think the biggest limitation comes from wheel size (machine height) and the inability to use some implements with a deeper "draft' like bigger post hole diggers, middle busters, or rippers, without dragging the implement in the dirt even at the highest lift setting.

Pete,

Thanks for tackling my question head-on. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif I just hate it when posters don't do a better job of reading my mind. Sometimes I have to dust off the keyboard and ask my question straight out. Can be embarrassing to peg the stupid question meter. Why can't they just answer the question I have in my head and not make me post it? These days it's hard enough to read the lines much less read between them. Some days are better than others.

You're not alone, OkieG. My problem is that I start reading threads from the most recent message, then work my way back to the question. Bad habit...kinda' like a dysfunctional version of Tractor Jeopardy with Alex Trebeck
