What is the main differences/limitations between a limited CAT 1 and a CAT 3pt? I am looking at the JD 2210 and it has a limited.

Range of motion, and length of arms, and smaller size (room) behind the seat.

While looking at the 2210, there maybe a bigger cat. 1 tractor next to it or nearby. Take a look and you will see the difference.

This is the first I have heard of a "limited" cat. 1 3ph. Is it "limited" to the YM2210 or do other models have the limited hitch?

I think JD is just making it clear that some implements won't work with the smaller CAT1 of the 2210. Many tractors have the smaller Cat 1, such as the Kubota BX and the MF GC2300 to name a few. You just need to remember that with some implements, such as Post hole diggers, you need to be a little careful with the model you buy. Most of this is due to the low stance of the tractor (which also is one of it's strengths, giving these a lot of stability on hills).

My tractor is the Kubota BX, and have not had any serious issues with standard Cat 1 implements. But I also know to be careful when buying a new toy....

King Kutter now offers a complete line of attachments for the CAT 1 on the sub-compact tractor. They call it the XB line. I just ordered an XB middle buster.

In addition to King Kutter, Woods, Midwest Equipment, and John Deere are now offering some implements sized-down for subcompact tractors.

I also had not heard of the Limited CAT. 1.... what is the differnence between that and then a CAT. 0 ? I have seen the CAT. 0 on some of the Bolens tractors...

I've posted this before so here it is:

Well specs for cat 0 and cat 1 are the following:

category 0
Top Link Pins are 5/8 inch in Diameter
Lift Arm Pins are 5/8 inch in Diameter
lower link width: 20"
lower link to upper: 12"

category 1
Top Link Pins are 3/4 inch in Diameter or 7/8 inch also
Lift Arm Pins are 7/8 inch in Diameter
lower link width: 27"
lower link to upper: 18"

As far that the PTO goes that varies greatly. Some have the "standard" cat 1 size/spline but some are specific to the OEM. Also note that some cat 0 tractors have a 2000 rpm rear PTO. Most cat 1 implelments will be too heavy for the cat 0 lift but that also would vary depending on the tractor and what it is rated to lift.

Did you get your question answered?
Recently looked at the Deere 2210 setting next to a 4110, and could see there is a difference in rear tire size. That alone, all other things being equal, will limit the lift of a cat I 3pt attachment on the 2210. I also, (but don't have specs in front of me) think the lift capacity of the Deere 2210 may be less than the next size up 4110. But the ASAE specs for Cat I are what the Deere 2210 is designed for. The catalog even shows an I-match hitch (Cat I) on the 2210.
