Ratchet Rake

Don't worry re: straps, they stay put, no stretching. steel cable is on bottom of bucket, straps are not in contact with ground, no need for chains and tighteners. I got my rake last year and have really been using it, leveling .2 mile lane, tearing out scrub brush and poison ivy, tears out small trees, takes very little practice to develop skill. Go for it, it's a great tool.

This thing does a great job ripping vines down and out of the brush. At first I was a bit concerned about the mounting system they use but after working the ratchet rake for 4 days, I am no longer concerned.

For those of us who can't afford a Rachetrake and toothbar (very similar attachments), what would be nice is if you could reverse the RR so the vertical spikes were pointing up for pure digging like a toothbar. From the looks of it, the ratchet attachment points on the top side would get in the way of digging with the RR. If they made those shorter, and the RR reversible so you could use it like a toothbar, they'd have an even better product. Just wishing right now.

That sounds great appreciate the information, I have about 1 acre that I cleared last fall . I bushhogged it after cutting out the larger sapling 2-8 inches. Plan on hitting it again this fall with the bush hog but then was not sure how to proceed after that.
I am thinking with the rachet rake on my FEL and my box blade I should be able to clear up the stubble and smooth it out pretty well.

Just picked up my b-day Ratchet Rake today at the TSC about an hour from me. The store 20 minutes from me didn't have any in stock, but he found them at a couple of other stores.

Only had 5 minutes to try it out. I'm working on eliminating an invasive tree - autumn olive - and I think this is going to be a great tool. I'm sure I need practice, but pulled some small trees, roots and all, on my first try.

Can't wait to try it on my problem driveway potholes

I too am impressed with how well this thing is made.

I got the 6' heavier duty one and put it on the 6' standard bucked on my JD 4120. I loved it. Cleared the bank around our slough in no time. Pulled down vines, etc. Left the ground scraped clean and pushed up everything into burn piles. For me it paid for itself just on this job. This past weeked I put probably 8 hours of use on it and it didn't budge, ratchets stayed tight.
