May I suggest spray graphite. I use the stuff JD labels for slip clutches anywhere you need lube(but not bearings of course). It works great. It does not attract dirt or dust, and after a few uses, seems to impregnate in the metal and reduce or eliminate oxidation. I have been using it on the top link, balls, and pivot points on the tractor with no problems. It also works wonders on hinges, gates, squeaky leaf springs, etc.
I tried dry film lubricant but it doesn't seem to work as well or last as long. I use the graphite maybe once a year on tractor and equipment and it lasts all season.
Spray it on but let it flash off before moving the parts.
