yeah, very cool photo.

Thanks,

a bit of advice for anyone with a woodmaxx. order the extra set of blades. They are reversible but having an extra set lets you remove and install a new set then take your time putting a new edge on the other set of blades. A power grinder is not advisable good old file is the best method.

Anything bigger than 2 inch diameter is firewood to me.

I was about to pull the trigger on the WoodMax when i saw a remark about making sure your tractor will lift it. I checked the weight and it is 950lbs and that was more than listed for my BX25 so I went looking again and found a used chipper on C/L . Only a 4" but the throat is much wider so brush is not a problem. I just ran a bunch of 4" white pine I lost in the ice storm through and it worked great. photo (14).JPG

Ryan,
Looks like you found a good buy that works with your tractor. Good luck with the chipper!

I have a WoodMax 8" chipper that has only about 10 hours on it, that I want to sell. I want to get a manure collector for my tractor, that is why I'm selling the chipper. Not a scratch on it, blades still sharp. Paid $2,865, will sell for $2200. You pay shipping.

What is the location of your chipper?

What is the location of your chipper?

I'm not the person that that you posted to, but I sent you a PM. My neighbor has a very nice Pequea/Frontier chipper for sale. Located about 1.5 hours from you, outside of Dayton. More money, but super high, made in the USA quality! Check your Private Messages.

Thought I'd give this thread a bump. I got my Woodmaxx chipper a wm8m a few weeks ago. I've been quite impressed what it will handle. My 4310 hst is probably close to 25hp and it handles the unit well. It will suck in small trees whole with the proper trimming (gotta watch out for any stiff wide Y sections). It also seems to handle the smaller brush quite well. Just shove the small stuff in the feeder and keep filling till it grabs. I thought the tractor was going to stall on a few of the bigger logs I put though it but I think it was just the sound of the blades smacking off larger chuncks / chips. The thing comes in a angle iron metal crate which I cut up to build a custom hitch to pull the chip wagon around. You can see it here:

This post is for those with smaller tractors that are unsure if the WM 8H will work with your tractor. Well I have a kubota B3200 and I just ran my WM 8H and it ran like a champ! The biggest I feed it was about 6" chunks and it gobbled them up with no problem. I have about 23HP at the PTO which is less than the min recommend. I think if you don't push it to the 8" diameter then you should be fine. So far I am really impressed with this chippers ability for the price. Time will tell. The instructions need some improvement but over all who can really complain at this price.

In addition after several days at wondering what where these two large flat left over pieces it finally came to me. The new chippers now ship with skies! Yes that's right no more worrying that the vibration will cause your chipper to sink. Just wish that had at least thrown in a sheet of paper mentioning what they were for.
