Several, all used and abused.
I've been tripping over my Posthole Digger for too many years now, and the last time I put it on, I decided that it was going to have a stand before I dealt with that again. I've seen posts from others who built simple stands to hang their posthole diggers, and thought that was the best solution. Simple, cheap and easy to build. I even got lucky and found all the lumber that I used in my scrap pile!!!

Looks good, and there is room for 3 or 2 deer hanging there too. ;)

Here's a pic of mine... well sort of. You can only see one of the 4x4 upright posts but it's pretty much the same as Eddie's, just not as pretty. This SURE makes it easy to hook up to a tractor cause the PHD will swing or tilt anyway you need it too to line it up. Btw, looks like we have the same Leinback PHD.

Eddie, I get the feeling your scrap pile would be the second-best-stocked lumber yard in my county.

Thanks for this picture, but with the auger up so high, do you have trouble putting the PTO on? I like to have mine level. What's the deal?

I have decided I need some kind of stand because getting the PHD on is not so hard but getting it OFF is my problem. I just drill it into the ground, which presents problems.

Please advise,

Laura

I want to do something similar. Currently hang mine from a tree branch with a ratchet strap.

Laura,

I had it on my tractor when I put it on the stand, so it's at the ideal position to hook it up again. I used a turnbuckle just in case I need to raise or lower it a bit, but don't really think that I need it.

Here's my phd stand. Everything is resting safely on the ground. I don't like having heavy things suspended in the air. It consists of two old fence posts, a piece of scrap lumber and a piece of rope.

I wanted one that i can move into and out of the shop easily, so i gathered up some scrap wood and a scrap pallet...and here goes. Cheap and easy...just like me. Hooks up in minutes, and i dont have to lift anything cept the auger.
