Does anyone have any experience with the Tartar tillers? They are made in Kentucky and sold through TSC in this area. I am thinking about a RT4 to mount on my BX23.
Thank you.

I've got a 60" model. So far, it seems to work fine for me, although there was an issue with water in the top gearbox when I picked it up. I ended up flushing it a few times. I've kicked up a few good sized rocks without breaking anything. The PTO shaft w/slip clutch is a decent quality (eurocardan).

One thing to keep in mind is that there is no direct communication possible with the manufacturer. They absolutely will not talk to an end user about anything. All spares have to come via a dealer. If you have a question the dealer can't or won't answer, you will not get any info from Tarter Gate. I found this out when I tried to get size info regarding a zerk fitting on the side hub. (Trial & error finally revealed it was a 10mm metric fitting)

Thank you for your response Nick.
I had read about your goat rope with the grease zerk and even told my wife about it. I am lucky in that there is a TSC store located about 7 miles from us. I don't know if I got lucky or not but earlier this afternoon I called the 800 number on Tartar's web site with a couple of questions and actually got the answers I needed. Right now I am trying to determine the quality of the unit and if my BX 23 will operate the 4' model. Tartar recommends 25HP minimum which makes the BX23 a little light. The RT4 is also set up for CAT I as opposed to being set up for a SCUT. I think Tartar is working on a model for a SCUT but I can not find out a schedule as of yet. They are built about 50 miles from my house which I would like to think would be an advantage.
Thanks again.

They seem to be a KingKutter copy. If there is a Rural King near you, check out their pricing on the KK models. They were very competitive in my area.
