I found myself posting a bunch of pics of my grapple over on another thread, and realized I love posting pics of it, so I figured I would start a thread for grapple pics.
I'll try to post more and more pics of my 'grappling fun' as time goes on. However, since it seems grapples are getting more and more popular and people are using them for more and more jobs, I encourage anyone else to post your "grappling fun" pics as well
Only rule of the thread.....no arguing about what type, make, size or anything is better/worse....:D

Looks like we have the same unit.. It's made a big difference when it comes to moving firewood logs and brush for a burning day. Oh' yeah moving the monster rocks.. don't have to get out of the seat...

Lookin good Irwin!
I think I might add some extra flatbar between the tines on the bottom of the grapple. Right now the tine spacing is 9" and a lot of my firewood will fall through, If I cut that in half it will hold a lot more so I may give it a shot.

If I ever upgrade my tractor I will probably go with a dedicated TLB like yours, maybe an L48 or similar. I find myself using the tractor more for those types of chores rather than 'farming'
I like those little TLB's, I think you have a lot more lift capacity than I do.

I've been playing with the idea of welding 1/2" round stock in the spacings between the lower tines, should be strong enough for rocks and still light enough not to lose the limited lift capabilities.

You've got the LA852 loader.. got me beat by about 375 lbs lift. I do think the L35 has more hydraulic output, but you've got the bigger more powerful machine.

I am looking to move large rocks and stumps as depicted in your photos. Can you recommend a tractor / grapple and manufacturers to do the job economically.

Thanks,
Gary

Gary,
I really like my WR Long OBG 2 grapple but that is the only one I have experience with. What size trees/stumps would you be moving on average? Also how far? I ask because larger stumps can pretty easily be moved with a similar size as mine or a smaller 48" grapple. The smaller stumps is size as mine or a smaller one. When your moving a lot of small stumps greater distances which I do a lot, it seems like I can carry more with the two grapple arms and wider width, however, I do a lot of firewood work where I scoop it up and carry a good distance too, that is where I really like the one I have. I think for the most part any grapple will make you happy and there comes a point where we're just splitting hairs comparing different types. Bottom line is, any grapple will save you tins of time and increase the usefulness of your equipment. I will be starting to clear my land later this month and will post more pics of my grapple in action, it will get a lot of use!
Let us know if you have anymore questions.
:)
