3550 Fard Backhoe and a 1948 Farmall Cub,
I picked up a nice Mott 5 foot FLail mower. Its only got 5 hours on it but its an older mower. THe man I bought it from's son in law borrowed it and thought it was a tiller and tried to till his gravel drive with it. THe teeth were worn down to a nub. Our nearest implement dealer doesnt hand flail mower parts. Im mostly going to mow a few places in a field between some trees and to mulch my cover cops on my beds in the Market garden.

I was wondering what the cost per knife runs.

Not that expensive and they have good discounts for over one hundred piece count orders.

Please tell me the rear roller is still mounted on it??????????????!!!!!!!

please upload a picture or two when you have time or have questions.

Oh my head!!, that poor flailmower!!! LUCY YOU GOT SOME SPLAININ TO DO!!!!!!!!!!

No worries really honest; after you get the new knives and new V belts that beast will be ready for work. just be sure to grease all the fittings including the ones under the V belt pulley housing.

Just be sure there is no wire wrapped around the bearing hubs on the inside.
as the housing will heat up under load.

I wish to welcome one more fine member from TBN to the flail mower nation.

I got it for 25 dollars it looks new and straight just the teeth look like h###. i had a 7 footer I picked up that was an offset with goot teeth it was an IH. It was a bit much for my 30 HP tractor. I gave it to a neighbor that still uses it. I may end up with it back later. I love my KK finish mowers but I also like a Flail mowers shortness from what little I used the 7 footer.

I have 5 acres of bushy hills and such to mow tall grass around our picnic area. I also have the vetch and buckwheat patches I plant on my market garden areas and a rotary mower will sorta windrow material. I need it to lay evenly on the beds.

It does still have the tail roller to just o teeth lol. I think they tilled with it for 10 minutes. I have made some tail rollers in the shop for some friends flail mowers .
