...but do I need the $2600 dollar Land Pride HR3572 that I was quoted back in January?

WOW, I just called a local dealership and they quoted me $3,850 for the HRL3578!
Does that sound right? Maybe I had my numbers off when I got my original quote back in January?

It can't be that much.....is it?

Well, it was a 72 and not a 78. I'm sure that there are some other differences also. Have you checked on a Cammond?

Well if you look at the Frontier BB1284 which I have on the configurator it is about the same price. Look at the specs and compare, size and weights, the bb1284 holds 36 cubic ft and weighs 1259 lbs.

Have you checked on a Cammond?

I haven't no, I just looked at the link you posted and will try shooting them an email.

I was just surprised to see the box blade priced that high. I figure after taxes and any freight charges I'd be up over 4 grand.

Oh and you'll be happy to know I pulled the trigger on that valve assembly I asked you about
I'm committed now!

I bought a Frontier BB3272 about 2 weeks ago. It weighs close to 800 pounds I think. I have used it for 6-8 hours and it seems to be doing a good job. It has the floating tailgate and 7 scarifiers. 6' wide. $1299 on clearance. I could have bought a cheaper, lighter blade, but decided to buy this one. It is construction grade. Bruce

Piston,
Brian should be able to save you some money on the topntilt setup for sure. Looking at the pics the Cammond is very similar to the Frontier Woods Gannon boxblades with the same weights. My Deere dealer sells Cammond as a short line and I bought a small 48" for my lawnmower last week. Seems to be well made product.

Here's a pic of my Frontier, notice how close it is to the heavier Cammond bb.

Jenkin,
That's a nice looking setup you have there! I would kill for a cab.
I was looking hard at the cab 4x20 series before I bought my used tractor but I still really like those.
That blade looks like exactly what I want. I am looking at a used Landpride HRL3578 which would be perfect for me, just not sure if the deal will work but I'm optimistic about it, should find out at the end of this week. \

88deere,
That sounds like a great deal on the blade you bought, good find!

I'll definately be buying the Top N Tilt setup through Brian when I get it. He has helped me more than I can describe and I can't say enough about how good his customer service is.
I already know for a fact that his stuff is going to be all great quality and heavy duty, you can tell by talking to him that he doesn't settle for 'should be good enough'....
I like to do it right, and do it once.

Well, I finally found what I was looking for!

GreatWhitehunter sent me a link to a used box blade for sale on ebay, only problem was it was in TEXAS!!! I started looking into it more and his starting bid was only $1,100 and there were no bids on it. I got a few quick quotes on shipping and thought to myself that if I can get this box blade for anything less than $2,000-$2,500 then I would be happy.
I called the seller and offered him less money than his starting price, due to the fact that shipping would be pretty expensive for me. I ended up sealing the deal for a grand total of exactly $1,300 after shipping
I was (still am) really happy about it.

It was a bit of risk for sure, but after talking to the owner I felt fairly confident. He works for a golf course and does the grounds maintenance. He bought the box blade new when they started building it in '06. He said most of the soil was all trucked in and he mostly used it to spread the dirt around, barely ever using the scarifiers.
After building the course, he had no use for it, so it literally sat there since then. I am figuring that the cylinders may leak and I may need to replace the hoses, but aside from that, I can't see anything wrong with it. I haven't hooked it up to the tractor yet so I don't know if it leaks or not, so that is worst case scenerio.
Anyways thanks to everyone who helped and special thanks to GreatWhitehunter and MtnViewRanch.

Here's some pics of my new Landpride HRL3578, it turned out to be the exact box blade I was looking for.
