Glad to have helped. I just found another near by. It looks to be the same model Jenkinsph has. Also a good deal.

Matt:thumbsup:

Looks very nice Piston. I would bet that the hydraulics are fine with no leaks. That stuff lasts a long time and yours has hardly even been used. I would hook it up and use it as is, well actually I would paint it shortly after I used it first. You got a great deal. :cool2:

I have to admit I was a little worried with buying something so far away sight unseen.

I was looking over my manual for my tractor, and in the manual it lists all the different sized implements (max weight) that are recommended for the tractor. Under the 'box scraper' section it lists a weight of somewhere near 750lbs as the max weight (don't remember off the top of my head exact numbers)

I was a little surprised it listed the weight so low and I know a lot of people use much heavier box blades than this on similar sized tractors. Should I be worried about that at all since the box blade is 1,000lbs? My rear lift capacity is just over 2,500lbs.

One thing I like is that it has the hinged blade, which I wasn't originally looking for, but I can secure it with 2 half inch bolts to make it fixed. I'm going to read through some more 'using a box blade' threads to figure out how to use it. I've never used one before, in fact this one hasn't even been hooked up to the tractor yet.

Jake,
I noticed you have a John Deere 410. How do you like it? My father and I have one but haven't owned it long. We sold an old Dynahoe and bought the 410 from a friend. I'm excited to get it up to my land in NH and see what it can do. Is yours 4wd? Mine is only 2wd unfortunately.

Thanks for the comments and letting me know that I made the right decision on buying the box blade!

Piston,
Looks like a great deal to me, and I would also doubt you have any problems with the hydraulics. It appears to lock the scarifiers in place similar to mine so less stress on the hydraulic cylinder. FWIW, I don't even need the scarifiers for most things because the box is heavy enough it will cut easily.

The rear hinged blade works great and produces a nice smooth finish. With a good top n tilt setup you will be ready to go. I haven't seen the need to lock down my hinged rear cutting edge.

That's a really nice box blade and the deal you got makes it even better, you won't find deals like that everyday, good job searching for it!
