Looking for information concerning Bradco 511 Backhoe. I have a price of about $8000 for the hoe and sub frame. I am looking to install it on a Mahindra 6000. Anyone have this hoe, how does it compare to other brands, cost, etc? What about pump v hooking into tractor? Have read some other posts where it appears the cost of a 609 is much less, is that true? Have looked a specs on both and looks like the 511 is a little bigger with about 2 more feet of reach. Any thoughts?

You are correct about the hoe size/reach. The "11" in 511 means it's an 11 foot digging depth. Likewise the 609 is a 9 foot digging depth. The difference between the 6xx and 5xx is overall heaftiness and digging force. Interestingly, the 511 has both a deeper digging depth AND greater digging force than the 609. I've never priced either so I can't factor that into a recommendation, but it's pretty clear that the 511 is an all-around more capable hoe than a 609.

I have a 511 mounted on my 4110 Mahindra. It is an awesome hoe. Digs 11 ft w/2ft bottom. It can dig (in ideal) conditions about 11' 4".. It does everything I ask of it. To do it over again, I would seriously consider a PTO pump w/ a minimum of 22 gallon reservoir. Remember, the 6000 has a 11 gpm pump. The 4110 has a 7 GPM pump. The 511 runs at it's best at 11GPM.. I had mine plumbed direct to tractor hydraulics and therefore, the much slower operation. The subframe is massive, the hoe pretty much easy on, easy off. This of course as long as your level.. I've seen the new 511 avg at 8800, so your well in the ball park..

Thank you both for your imput. Did you get your backhoe through Mahindra. I understand the sub frame can only be purchased through Mahindra, what about the hoe itself. Do you know if it can be purchase cheaper through 3rd party dealer, or better to get it with frame through Mahindra? If you don't mind, what did you have to pay for your 511, and what buckets did you get...additional cost?

Does anyone know if the subframes for the 511 backhoe are available for the Mahindra 6000 4wd?

Slippy,

type in www.swantak.com, then click on Mahindra models, then click on monthly special. Right in front of you they picture a new 6000 w/511 Bradco. Let me know what you think.

Looks great! Thanks for the tip. However, I have been informed that there were 4 prototype subframes made originally, and that there were changes in the design for better fit, and, at this time they are in production, but not yet ready for sale. I emailed Swantak and asked what they know.
Thanks again.

Yes ,the subframes and installation kits, are availible for the 511 on the Mahindra 6000 4wd with either style loader (Great bend or Kmw). I called my contacts at Mahindra and Bradco, both told me that they are availible. If i can help give me a call toll free or an email, I would be happy to help you in anyway i can.

slippy,
The Johnson Auto post is where I bought my Mahindra and Bradco hoe. Tehy've gone through a lot of questions and answers, so it wouldn't hurt to call them on their 800 number as they are up on the latest changes.
