the farm show in Louisville really go me thinking. at the tractor pull between pulls they were grading the dirt with a dimand shape tool that pushed the dirt to the sides and then the back blade which was wider then the front pulled it in and leveled. this thing looked like a great thing for the gravel road which I have to grade in the summer. I have never seen one who makes them are they expensive like everything else I can't afford?

What you described, sounds like what the township road commisioner uses on the gravel roads in our area. They pull it with a Ford 8000. It does a pretty slick job. If the snow goes away soon, I will snap a picture of it and post it.

One of the area Deere dealers handles those graders. They are heavy duty and do as you say with the diamond shaped blades that cut, move, and pull back the cut material to smooth it out. They also use them locally to smooth the tracks at a tractor and truck pull. They follow this attachment with a wheeled packet.

I know just what you are talking about, they use one at our local fair tractor pulls and one of the dealers in town carries them. I can't think of the name but it seems like they were around a 1000.00 /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif I did the next best thing and built my own and I will try and post a pic later this week

I think I know the piece of equipment you are talking about. I didn't see the tractor pull, but I did see an implement at the show that looked like what you described. For some reason, I picked up a brochure. The item I saw is called a Driveway Scraper, and was shown by Wingfield Distributors. I believe the price was $880. The picture on the brochure is pretty grainy, but it looks like there is a decal that says Agritek (manufacturer?).

From the brochure:
Wingfield Distributors
4712 N. Cunningham Ave.
Urbana, IL 61802
(800)637-6712
website: www.wingfields.com

Their website says they sell Agritek products, but I could not find this particular item anywhere. Hope this helps..............Steve

Re: Grader at the Darn Farm show

I was by the dealer today, and read "The K&C Grader" on the unit that I was referring to, that IMO fits the original description. I didn't have the camera along, but will plan to take it next week and post a picture, and even try to pick up some literature.

It sounds like what one of my uncles has. I don't have a picture of it either. A local welding shop made his out of angle iron. You may be able to take a picture to your local welding shop and have one made for not much $$.

I finally got out and took a pic of my homebuilt driveway leveler, not pretty but works like a charm.

Re: Grader at the Darn Farm show

Took a pic of the grader, I was referring to, while at the dealer today, and have it attached. A light snow and zero degree weather, but it shows up pretty good. Much like the home-made one posted. Some dirt still piled up on it from using it around the dealership, I believe. There is a second one behind it (a pull type, not 3 pt) that hopefully doesn't litter up the pic too much for you to see the 3 pt one in the foreground.
