I was wanting to find out how to adjust the slip clutch correctly after disassembly with new clutch disc. This has the type of clutch that used the Belville Washers and the large nut to set tension.

Just dont know exactly how to set it up correctly.

Thanks.

For my 901 I: Back the nut off, take it out and use it. Get into some heavy grass, try to make it slip in the grass, then tighten it up a hair more. Then use it and see what it does. I would rather slip the clutch then bog the tractor down. I carry one of the large pair of channel locks for adjusting the nut.

Thanks for the advice......I got the gearbox shaft welded and straightened, And gear box reassembled and ready to go. Just wanted to make sure i got this adjust correctly.

I should have never tack welded the clutch(when the disc wore out).....and just ordered new clutches...I didnt realize how easy they were to find to purchase. I only cut my grass field so I thought I would have never hurt it. Wrong! LOL
