I've been considering buying one for sometime now. I'm more interested if one type can spead: Lime pellets. Fertilizer. Grass seed....and maybe sand.

Anyone with a BX2200 and the Herd M96, what is the length of the PTO shaft, how much did you cut off? Getting ready to buy one and would be great if I knew how much to cut off. Did you also get the 18 inch extension and cover for your M96?

Thanks

Tom,

This won't help you at all but on my TC21D I had to cut off 3". Then I had to turn around and re-order a new one when I got my TC29D. If you could get the Herd Spreeder without the PTO I would send you mine as I have no use for it. The problem is you won't be able to buy it without.

Just throw the fertilizer spreader away, but before you do realize you can purchase a new PTO for $38.48

don't need a sales pitch here. I did only order a new PTO, not the whole spreeder. I ordered it right from Herdseeder direct and if I remember right I only paid about 24.00.

this way I also got me a extra set of bearings

Murph,

Thanks for the offer, if I cut the PTO too short, I may take you up on your offer /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Tom,

Remember you have to cut off both side of the shaft. Cutting only one side will not do anything for you. Take the shield off and mount the spreeder on your tractor and then measure for it. Also make sure you run your 3 point up and down to check for expansion. I stayed to the long side to prevent me from cutting it too short. You will also have to cut the shield on both sides.
