A local dealer has a "new" Bush Hog 295 rotary cutter on sale for $2279. The salesman told me it was on sale because it's been on their lot since April 2009. It has the chain shield on front but not on the rear. Is this a decent price? Should I be concerned about it sitting around for 2 plus years? (Obviously I would want to re-adjust the slip clutch before using it.) Any changes/improvements in this model over the last two years?

I see several ads for used 295s at $1250 and a couple new between 1900-2100. Can't answer to versions or updates over the last few years.

The 295 as you might know is a tough as nails built 5'-er(IMHO).Also they weigh a little over 900LBS.
What tractor are you planning on useing this with ?
If it were me just cause its been there that long.I'd offer $1800 if it looked real good,if you really wanted it.If you buy it check your gearbox oil before using.
