Re: Which 48\" box scraper
I see the Kubota site goes up to 54 inches for the B7500.
Last summer after getting my B2910 I concluded that the max width I should go with was a 5'. A 4' would not have been as wide as my rear tires. I did not think, after digesting input from fellow tbners that my tractor could fully use all the capabilities of a wider box if I got into doing heavy duty stuff.
I think you need a box blade that is a little wider than your rear tires. I would proably go with the narrowest box blade I could get that would cover my tracts. That should maximize you tractors ability to fully utilize the box for heavy ripping. If it is too wide it might just stall the tractor when you get aggressive...
I may just be repeating what some others have already said in this thread...and although I tend to be one of the "bigger is better" guys...sometimes what is really best is to match things size wise.
A big saw with a small motor won't cut wood too well...if you know what I mean...
PS...as I mentioned in a similar thread, I ended up with a KK box blade. I initially wanted better, but was surprised how well the KK works for me. I figure if I need more weight [don't know the weight actually] I will set some concrete blocks on top of it or something else heavy.
Remember the 80/20 rule. 80% of the functionality is bought for the first 20% of the cost... /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif
