I sold a Woods RM 40 I had for 15 years. I think I should have held out for more money after looking for a good used 5 footer.
How do you put the blades through the top of the deck and still say it's in great condition? I've checked out 4 so far from $500 to $1100 and none were as good as the one I sold.

I think I'll just spring for a new one and keep it for another 15 years.

The Bushog is built well, but I find that the King Kutter leaves a better cut. The welds are important, but I would not worry about the paint. I suspect you need a 4' model. 5' is too much unless you are on flat land and no thick grass.

Yes 350.00 sounds cheap. After looking at a Bushhog Squealer. I was impressed. Does anyone have the Landpride brand to comment on after using it? Is it worth the extra money for the squealer over the Land Pride or King Kutter? These are the local brands, within 50 miles.

I don't have that Landpride, but I have two Landprides, a RCR1548 and RCR2672, both of which have been really good cutters. I have no experience with Bush Hog, only reputation and believe they are good products; whether they are worth more or are "better" than Land Pride is something I can't answer. All I know is that I am very satisfied with the quality of Land Pride and will buy another if these ever wear out.

I have used my RCR2672 in very rough conditions.

I have an older KingKutter. All it does is mow grass and has held up fine.

Docent bother me if the welds are not solid. Gaps in the top deck give the water somewhere to drain rather than puddle and cause more rust.

Agian....mine is not very pretty but it's not a big deal. All it does is mow grass a few times a year.

I have a light duty 5' that has been beat finding NH boulders and stumps.

I've seen one model that has a "dish" under the center shaft protecting that area - might help reduce knives binding up whn hitting something solid.

PITA un-binding the knives.
