Rear Finish Mower Kubota L2800 HST - Finish Mower

I am new to the forum and to tractors and acquired a Kubota L2800 HST with 28 hours. It came with several attachments, but would like to buy a finish mower. I think I would like a rear discharge, but I am curious as to what brand and size. I am interested in a 72", but am not sure how well it will perform on my tractor. I have approx. 3.5 acres to mow.

Anybody with a similar tractor have advice? Also am interested in hearing opinions on brands. I have looked at Phoenix and Woods.

My B7800 is almost identical in size to your L2800. I use a Woods PRD7200 72" RFM and it does an excellent job. My yard is 7 acres.

Your tractor is the perfect size for a 72" mower. I use a First Choice (the same mower as Sicma and some other brand names.) It does a fine job. There are more beefy mowers out there (like the Woods and Land Pride. I bought mine used from a friend-I probably would have considered a Woods if I were buying new.

Another thought about RFMs, in my area they are the most easily found used implement. If I were to buy another, I would probably watch the classifieds for a couple of months.

Look at Tractor supply. i have one that is a 72" RD, 6 years old now and mowes 33 plus acres a week. Two tractors use this mower, a mahindra 2810 HST and a Kioti DK35SE HST with a HF quick hitch. Love this mower and it has a reasonable price attached. I did change the way it picked by adding chains to each corned in the back. Some of my ground is really rough and it rides better when raised. Best thing is absolutely no problems !
By the way, the Mahindra bucket looks different because I converted to Skid steer and welded a QC plate on the back.

I also like the Woods, but, in the end, went with the Sicma (Phoenix, First Choice). I find it every bit the solid, well designed rear discharge machine and do not regret the decision whatsoever.
