Deutz Tedder
My father just purchased a used Deutz Tedder, the markings on the tedder are; Deutz FAHM FH-500. I have not been able to find this model listed on the net anywhere, but i have been able to find a FAHR KH-500.
Can anyone tell me if these two are the same or similar?
Does anyone have a electronic copy of the Owners manual?
Thanks for any information you can provide.

Re: Deutz Tedder
Its almost certainly -Deutz Fahr not Fahm, was a very common tedder. Its also likely KH-500 which was a popular model. They didn't have many models. The name it was sold under varried but was the same tedder. Do you have a picture?
The 500 refers to the width in cm. I presume it is a rear fold 4 basket?

Ditto. Owned one. Company was named Deutz-Fahr at one time.

Re: Deutz Tedder
Thank You for the information.
I don't have a picture, it is at my fathers farm in PA and i am in Texas. I talked to him last night and it is a rear fold 4 basket.
Now i just need to try to find him a manual to describe the best way to adjust the machine and maintenance requirements.
I have been looking on the net for the company website but only find sites for their tractors, do you know if they still make attachments and have a web site?

Not Deutz-Fahr anymore. Deutz is still making tractors and engines, not sure about implements. As far as owner's manual, not much to adjust. Move the unlock levers on each hinge point to unlock. Open it up and lock them again. Only other adjustment is the hand crank lever above the tongue. This adjusts the angle of the baskets. Thats all there is!

Re: Deutz Tedder
You can adjust the tine angle too with the little set screws. The wheels need to be unlocked to the float steering position when you swing then locked forward while tedding. You can set all of them at an angle to make the tedder track sideways to throw hay away from a fence line.
Keep oil in the gearbox, grease all the zerks and the lock pins, and the couplers for the 2 outside baskets.
The angle is set to have the tines an inch or so off the ground on level ground. If you have rough ground set it higher or you tear up the teeth and the tedder.
