After thinking about a TSC unit I am now thinking about this splitter. From what I have read it is made better and is a decent upgrade. How big of a deal is horizontal only? I have some BIG pieces to split but I could use a saw to cut them in half first. Anyone use this splitter? Any comparable splitters that also go vertical? Would the splitter take up a lot more room in a barn because it doesn't fold up?

I own a Timberwolf with a table grate,
four way wedge and hydraulic log lift.

I purchased my Timberwolf model and have
never regretted it as it is so much easier to
make firewood AND the log lift saves your back!!!!

The horizontal timberwolf and the table grate
will allow you to split and resplit a lot of
firewood quickly.

It's an upgrade, outside of some $3k and up commercial ones every H/V I have used twists like crazy and are under built compared to a Heavy duty/commercial Horizontal.

The TW is a nice unit.

Horizontal Only is not as big a deal for a 3pt unit because you can lower the 3pt to get it closer to the ground. I think for a towable unit horizontal only is less desirable and it would be worth it to pay a bit more for a unit that does both.
