Funny you mention CL. I've been using Search Tempest every few days and I hit it again today and found a Woods XT148 listed at $650, negotiable. The pictures look like it's in pretty good shape. He's probably asking half of new and it's 3 years old. Maybe he'd go for $500. Any reason why it wouldn't fit my BX or is this 3 point stuff pretty universal?

Anyone know of any fit issues with a BX and a Woods XT148? I just don't want to end of like this guy. Is the 3 point hitch still a Cat 1? The guy selling the Woods says it has about 6 hours on it and he was running it on a 18HP Massey. It's a slip clutch and he says he'll take $500. He agreed to hook it up and show me that it works good. He's an hour away, so if I go to look I'm taking my trailer.
Any help is appreciated. I don't want to make a $500 mistake.

Still talking to myself and nobody's home...
Here's a pic of the Woods XT148 and the tractor the guy purchased it with. Would the driveshaft have been shortened to run off that lower PTO?

I have a Cub cadet CUT, 7260. I got a Woods Brush Bull for it. I too mow through a woods and along an open fence line. I use it about every other week. It has a slip clutch and boy am I glad!! Once in a while I'll catch an old stump, or a root sticking up. I caught a 100 yr old fence post and cut it into three peices. I'd been over the ground dozens of times, but never saw it. I let Winchester Ag maintain it for me, so I know its up to snuff. MIne is a 5 footer, but I dont' have any trouble with that extra foot. I actually like that its the same width of my rear tires. The Brush Bull is not the cheapest bush hog out there, but it takes some abuse and keeps going! I would buy another one. :)

I stopped and looked at a 48" Howse and a local dealer today. They have it on consignment at $600. They described it as "almost new." I think it looks more like "almost old." For $900 I could buy a new one. This is what $600 buys you (tractor not included). :D
