For starters, I have NEVER bought any new implements.

The prices are just too good on used ones that need a little TLC that I am more than capable of:thumbsup:

But I do like good looking equipment and like to keep them painted. Mainly so decks dont rust out and what not.

Anyway, here is a Bushhog brand model 306 rotary cutter I picked up earlier this spring. It weighs about 1050lbs. Cost was $200

Heres how it looked when I got it.

And here's how she looks now.

Total cost:

Bushhog......................$200
3 7014 welding rods........$00.25
quart of primer...............$20
Quart of IH red...............$20
Can of hardener..............$12
Pint of thinner................$10
_____________________________
TOTAL INVESTED..........$262.25:thumbsup:

And this thing is a beast. 2.5" and 3" trees dont stand a chance:D I have already cut about 20 acres with it this year, before I painted it. And it is a BEAST for sure.

Nice job!
"IF" you didn't add them from the before to after pictures, I think I would drill a 1/4" hole in each corner of each compartment on top of the deck to allow the water that was standing on the before pictures somewhere to go. Just a thought, unless you store it indoors. Decks rusting out seem to be the only thing that kills those around here.

I thought about that also. and its still not too late.

But the water is only part of the issue. IT is the debris and and weeds and such that build up and make it a PITA to clean. They would probabally just clog the holes anyway:confused2:
