Just wondering if anyone knows if this 25-gal, 12V tank & sprayer is decent at $150?

CountyLine Deluxe Spot Sprayer, 25 gal. Capacity - 2137081 | Tractor Supply Company

I'm wanting to spray weed killer along my new 3,400' fenceline. I'd set the tank in the bed of my Kawasaki Mule & drive the fenceline while spraying.

BTW, please suggest a weed killer if you could ... I think Home Depot's RoundUp is gonna cost me an arm & a leg

I just can't believe how quickly & thoroughly dense weeds have overtaken my brand new fence :(

Harber freight just sent out a flier with a 15 gallon sprayer for $89.00 you might want to check that out.

I went to Wal Mart and they wanted $44.00 for 60 oz. of Round Up concentrate...too rich for my blood so I bought another brand at Wal Mart.. Eliminator Weed & grass Killer..60 oz and it was $24.00. We used it on our driveway and fence line at the farm and 2 days later all the weeds and grass were brown...the stuff is great...with Round up which we have used in the past ...it takes a week or more to see results...

I purchased a 25 gallon spot sprayer earlier this year to used in my Polaris Ranger.

Ag Spray Spot Sprayers

I purchased it from our local Co-Op in TN. It is more expensive than the one that you are looking at. I am very pleased with it. I have not found a weed killer that I am happy with yet.

I did not want to drill holes in the Ranger's bed so I came up with this method to mount it using lap joints. The sprayer does not move around in the bed at all. When I am done I just lift out the sprayer, frame and all.

Thanks! That's a great mounting method

Tractor supply puts Pronto 2.5 gallon on sale for $39.99 every once in a while. Normal price is $50. This is 41% glysophate. Or generic Round-up. If you use well water or have hard water, a bit of Ammonium Sulphate in the water helps the glysophate.

Generic round-up got a bad rap at first. Then the generics started putting in the surfacants like Monsanto.

I don't like using glysophate on some of my pasture fence lines. After killing everything, the weeds are the first to recover. I do use glysophate on the fence lines going through brush and trees.

Like this guy said, get a generic Glyphosate . Make sure its 41% concentrate or stronger, but 41% is about 99% of what you can find.
Agrisupply if near you sells a generic all the time for $34.99 for a 2.5 gallon jug. You only need to mix about 2.5oz/gallon to kill herbacious weeds. Label i think goes down to about 2oz and up to about 3.5 for woody trees, to straight application of concentrate on a cut stump. Follow the label to be legal for what your spraying. tractor supply has some as well, i think 2 or 2.5gallons is about $39 on sale as well in the spring/summer.

Those 15 gallon ones can be had all the time everywhere for $89 to 99 on sale. They run out pretty quick so you prolly want to have the extra capacity of the 25gallon one.

Glyphosate is a good general killer and will pretty much kill anything short of privit, which can be killed with repeated applications. Just keep in mind once the seeds from the weeds sprout it will just grow back as glyphosate has NO soil activity, meaning it has to touch what it kills. If you spray it in the dirt next to something or pour it out it wont kill stuff unless the roots have an injury to let the chemical in.

Hello Beppington,

As "Roundup" is no longer a protected patent chemical
you can purchase it as a generic weed killer from many
ag suppliers to.

I am wondering if using a propane powered Flame Dragon
or a rubber roof torch would be better of your needs as the
flame burner will leave no chemical residue.

The rubber roof torches have a squeeze handle to increase the
flame and heat on the torch to really burn weeds an also fuse
roof rubber and asphault.

I use a flame torch for my weeds and a 40 pound propane tank
for fuel.

Do you want to kill everything or just weeds. Roundup will kill everything but as stated has no residual effect. If you want to kill weeds and leave the grass there are herbicides for each type of grass. I would check out the Dow Agrosciences website. They have restricted and nonrestricted products based on what you want to kill. Remember there are federal and state restrictions on some products. In Texas you have to get a non-commercial applicators license to buy restricted products.

I would surely rather not use chemicals, but would flames/ torch not char my new fence??
