Kubota M7040 cab/hyd shuttle - current, Kubota L3400 - traded
As pointed out by MtnViewRanch and slowzuki in another thread I need to be careful about ground engaging cat 1 implements on these much larger tractors.

I have a Woods HB72 that is heavier duty than the normal box blades. Woods rates it for 40-70 engine HP. I don't use it very much - occasionally on the drive way. I'm not clearing new ground anywhere with roots and stumps.

The Kubota M7040 is 71 net engine HP and the NH 4030 is 75 net engine HP. I'm hoping I will be fine hanging on to this box blade and bushing it to Cat 2. Wondering what the rest of you think?

I have a cheapish Kodiak 7' rake which I will consider trading in for heavier duty one but I don't see any LandPride or Woods rakes (even the cat 2 ones) that are rated for anything higher than 60 hp. Any ideas on what I should be looking for? My primary use is to clean out my pole barn or clean out manure from here or there. The Kubota won't be able to get in there anyway but the NH does fit. What rakes do others use on this size tractor?

Good luck on purchasing a landscape rake that you will be able to pull behind a bigger tractor and not have to worry about it. Either Woods or Land Pride is probably going to be the best that you will find and their best units ARE NOT CHEAP. One of these days I will get my "super" rake built and post pics. Hopefully before the end of the year. I believe that the manufacturers either do not realize what we use the rakes for and how much drag is put on them or they figure that no one would pay the $$$$ for a truly heavy duty rake or they just don't care. :( I personally would get the Land Pride LR3596 if I were to purchase one again. It didn't do me much good to spend almost $800 for one that lasted for only a few uses before I had to rebuild it and that just showed me the remaining week spots.

Take it easy with the box blade and good luck finding a rake that you are happy with.
