Interesting John Deere "Forklift Tractor" Attachment

Wow, that is strange. The price is ridiculous and the CUT is single purpose. 10,600+ lbs is a lot of weight plus the weight of what is on the pallet forks. Old forklifts used to be built from a tractor "built backwards". However, those old tractors were much heavier built than a cut.

Used forklifts are pretty cheap. I wonder why a guy would want an attachment like that.

Perhaps they needed a rough terrain close quarters machine? That looks like what they would use around here to load bins of apples onto a semi truck at the field.

Not sure on that weight, the bare tractor is ~3800# per tractordata/Deere and if they have 900# on the nose (3x300# weights) and 2000# in the subframe/mast, that is still only at 6400#

Per Deere's spec sheet, the max axle weights are 3527# for the front and 5292# for the back which gives a combined max axle weight of 8819#

It is, actually...that's stated in the page CompactTractorFan linked to, if you read down a bit.

I was looking to see what model it was to see if I could find the specs. The company name on the sale page is where I started from.

I think it is a pretty good looking deal. When I worked for Allis-Chalmers, a product we built at our Topeka plant was a rough terrain fork lift. Used common parts where possible but it still was expensive to build due to low volume. Here you have an off the shelf tractor with 4wd (ours were just 2wd) and an attachment added. Looks like it could be converted back to use as a tractor. Wonder how much it takes to make the switch.
