My tractor is going thru a Metamorphasis of sorts. I rarely settle for
the status quo, I have to make things mine, to my liking. My lil BX25
will not be all mine till all my bells and whistles are hangin' on it, right
or wrong...good or bad, sane or insane.

Today I installed an early BD presant, the 1133 Canopy. It should be
noted this is NOT rated as a FOPS, but by the time I am done, it* will
withstand a full roll, of this I am quite sure and although I have no death
defying feats planned, it is nice to know I will be "covered" .

*The superstructure for it plus what I am going to add, an extended
A Pillar +++.

I am in the planning stages for a full cage, removable rollbar.
Built of 1-3/4" / .120 wall tube, bent proper and attached SOLID
top and bottom. I will perhaps go w/ "Windshield bar" and "X" bracing
just like one would see in off road racing, almost like I knew
what I were doing...Heck, even though I can burdturd weld I am
even considering tacking it all up and paying a pro welder I know
who owns a welding biz to weld it up. I have seen this guy weld tin
cans, he has accounts welding 8" flanges which look robot welded
down to mini alum expansion chambers for fuel powered RC Products.
He knows his stuff in other words...

Today I got the Overhead Radio Console I designed installed too. I have not
meantioned it anywhere, "surprise" ! Ha! I drew up this console and had a
professional Co. make it out of aluminum. I added in all the electronics
some time ago w/ relays and lighted switches and and and. It is currently
temp power'd backwards thru the 12Volt accessory outlet. Next to
that outlet I have a Volt Meter, then an AM/FM CD Radio, then 4 lighted
accessory switches w/ a Master Shut off switch (future lighting). The box
is hinge'd on the back, all watertight w/ 5 gaskets, has an Antenna and it
is all powered thru a 7 Pin Commercial trailer plug making it all removable.

The video (link below) shows more, I am REALLY pleased w/ how things are
coming along. It rocks... The Canopy funnels down the radio's tunes and
your head is just perfectly set between two 6x9's . Eventually
we'll be done, not yet. I have not address'd the 120W max available
at the accessory plug. I'm considering a bigger battery as well.
I wonder if there is a bigger alternator that will bolt in?
I will probably have to do the research and draw up and
cut bracketry. Electronics is NOT a strong point w/ me, ANOTHER DAY!

In the video you can see the Chainsaw holder I built and
the Fire Extinguisher I added to it, as well as the GrappleOmatic
I built for the FEL bucket, running off the curl circuit w/ a quality FASSE valve.

Must think about adding some ballast to counter the overhead weight I thunk.
the box is Aluminum, it weighs little...

Just to clarify some dimensions, the curl cylinder pin is 1-3/16". you are correct that the lower pins are 3/4".

JERY! Long time no see!

Anyone reading this thread JERY owns www.mytractortools.com and his Grapples
and Quick Attach mechanisms are awesome and second to none. REAL quality stuff!

Jery got any UTubes or pictures of what you have to sell grapple wise perhaps
for the guys who want a Grapple but do not want to make it?

I want to see more anyways! No hijacking, it's all good, show us some pics if you can Jery...

That is an amazing set up! Great design with the black box containing your radio, and speakers. You are never going to want to get off your tractor! I like the chain saw holder design. That is a great idea! Thanks for posting the video! Have you ever considered designing this type of stuff for tractors? There are not a ton of great designs, or customizations like this, and the ones that do exist are few and far between. Anyways, I look forward to seeing more!

Dude - you have too much spare time on your hands!

You need to hang a disco ball under that canopy with some spinning strobes on those two bolts that hang down.

Seriously though - cool work. I'm hoping to do some similar things to my B3200 when I finally have the free cycles. I'd like to see more info about that 1133 canopy

If you own a BX25 and want more electricity from it CLICK HERE.
If I am successful I will post up herein...till then I need HELP!

Artisan,
Why more power? 40- 60 Amps on an alternator is not significant when there is not room to install a battery large enought to support a significant winch or hydraulic pump motor. You cannopt add enough lights and other toys like your audio system to overtax the OEM alternator. I looked at doing a winch mount but abandoned due to the above argument. I am planning a PTO logging winch that attaches to the BH mounting system. Have the steel already to go when I get time. By using the BH mount I get the winch solid to the frame and at a low pulling point to reduce the tipping factor and put the load mon the rear wheels. Like one poster said; you seem to have too much time on your hands. I have lots of ideas, but my summer work on the place overrides my fabrication ideas.

Now that is an idea I really like!! Were you going to have some hydraulic stabilizers to give the winch a wider footprint to pull from and to lift the unit off when not using?
