This is not exactly an attachment question, but is about cleaning attachments and tractor with a pressure washer. (I know..be careful with high pressure doing damage.)
Does a portable pressure washer require the water source to be under pressure as from a well spigot, or can I use water from a water tote(275 gal) as gravity flow to the washer? Thanks.

I think it depends on the PW but I have seen ones advertised that will draw their own water like from a barrel or pond. I know mine wont work with just gravity. I just used a 12v blaster pump and it worked fine.

I think most of the smaller ones that someone would typically have for home use require a certain GPM to work. For example, I have a Craftsman and it says that your source needs to be able to supply 3.5 gal per min.

Glen, I'll check into that.

Galaxie, I was thinking about the home use type washer.

I'm wanting to clean off the dirt that accumulates on my disk harrow so as to not leave it on there all year to cause rust. Every fall when I plant my foodplots
the disk get a buildup of dirt on the disks if the dirt is the slightest bi moist. I have scraped it off in the past, but that is a pain.

Thanks.

I also agree that you'll need to supply pressure to your washer. As mentioned you can get a 12v pump at around 3 to 5 gpm to provide the pressure. You'll need just a bit more than what your pressure washer is rated for.

your gonna need pressure but if you figure out how high abouve your unit it needs to be to equal out you can do it. But why worry about it that much, farmers dont and store it like that. Im sure the disks will outlast what your gonna use them for. If you just put a few pieces of ply over it to keep the rain from rehydrating the mud you will do the exact smae thing.

Yep, I've considered that I might be too concerned about the rust. While replying above and thinking about pumps, it occurred to me that I already have a pump and spray nozzle...a 55 gal FIMCO boom sprayer with a hose and wand sprayer that will probably do the job. Sometimes can't see the forest for the trees!
Thanks.
