I am looking at a used Landpride RBT4096 rear blade. Haven't seen it yet but will look at this coming week. It has two hydraulic cylinders on it, offset and tilt, manual only on the angle. It reportedly has end plates and skid shoes as well. Firm price is $2550 . Consignment dealer says that it has been lowered once and he has tried to get it lowered again but the guy will not budge.
I was really looking at all hydraulic but that could be added later for the angle.
I have a JD 4720 58 HP. I had been looking at the RBT3596 rated 35-80 HP.
The RBT4096 is rated 65-100 HP, which is a bit above my 58 HP. The moldboard is the same length and height on both units. The weight according to the literature is conflicting either 6 lbs lighter (which makes no sense) for the RBT4096 vs RBT3596 or is 19 lbs heaver for the 4096 vs 3596. Either way I don't see much difference that would effect me. I suspect the 40 series rating may come from the 40 series having a 108" moldboard option that would require the extra HP. The unit new without the endplates but with three hyd cylinders is quoted at $3412.
My questions are:
1. Does anyone have a feel as to the price ($2550) being good for a three year old supposedly "lightly used" RBT4096? (have not seen it yet)
2. Does the 65 hp min rating say, stay away for me and my 58 hp machine even though the moldboard is the same and the weight is plus or minus 6-19 lbs different?
Any inputs are welcome. Thanks
