coobie,
I have the older Leinbach model with welded tines, I like the idea of replaceable tines and will purchase one of these when I need a new one. Heres some pics of my 6' rake and x749, does a good job imo.

To make a more agressive pass I hang two 42# weights around the top link post for mild dethatching.

Great pics, you sold me now.I want to use the rake behind my JD X748 for spring dethatching and fall clean up for some of my leaves and pine needles.

coobie,
The PSR doea a great job with the needles but a fair job with small leaves. Lots of small leaves will pass through it. The tines are on 2" spacings, so as you can imagine lots of small leaves will be left behind. After raking an area with leaves and loosening them up I often use my Stilhl backpack blower to clear the leaves out.

I have have the same issue, does NOT work well for leaves. I also use a Stihl backpack for cleanup. I think the rake is to aggressive for dethatching use.

I am going to sell mine on Craigslist in the spring I think.

About the rake being too aggresive for dethatching I found the opposite to be true, but that is likely because the 3ph weight on my garden tractor is very light compared to the hitch on a larger tractor. You can shorten the top link to change the angle of the tines too.
