I'm somewhat new to farming. I purchased a JD RWA disk harrow at an auction in Oregon. It has 4 gangs of 8 disks. The disks are tight on the axels, so there is no play in the disks but there is a lot of play in the bearings in 3 of four axels, I can move the axel in the bearing housing. I have never rebuilt one of these. There is a lot of tourque on the axel nuts...how do you hold the axel stationary while you tourque on the nuts? The weight of the disk isn't enough to hold the axel still. There is a 2 1/2inch fitting on the end near the axel nuts...looks like I may need to buy some big boy wrenchs.
