It's not much, but I'm excited anyway. I bought a 5 foot box blade made by Wallace Mfg. on Saturday for $269. I know it's not the heaviest built out there, doesn't have the nicest paint, but I think it will do the job for my little 22 hp. When the red paint fades off (which won't take long) I can paint it orange to match the Kubota.

Enjoy, should work fine. I keep thinking about painting my attachments but never quite get around to it. some of my attachments came from the fifties from my Dad's 8N and I don't think they've seen paint for 20 years.

That's about what I paid for my First Choice 60" box blade (actually $285, I think). I think I've seen one like mine for as little as $265 in southern IN last fall. I don't think I've seen the Wallace box blade but sure hope you'll be as happy with it as I am with mine.
On a totally unrelated note, I thought I knew our state fairly well but have to admit total ignorance to the location of St. Anthony, IN. Could you tell me where it is and what's there? |

Hi Gary. St. Anthony is in Dubois County about 8 to 10 miles southeast of Jasper. It's a small rural community where I grew up and plan to spend the rest of my life. Besides farming, the major thing in this area is furniture factories. Ferdinand, which is 5 miles south and a little west of my home is the home of Forest Park High School (my almamater). Forest Park just played Cass in the state championship. I know Cass isn't real far from Fort Wayne.
Let's see, Patoka Lake is 15 miles to the northeast, Lincoln State Park where Abraham Lincoln grew up as a boy is 15 miles to the south, and Huntingburg where the movies "A League of Their Own" and "Hard Rain" were filmed is 6 miles to the west. How's that for location? |
