Really ... when I saw that head gear on the broom my first thought was if I were a crow I wouldn't go anywhere near a field with that dude standing in it.

Thanks, I am glad you enjoy them. The north country is a pretty place and I enjoy showing it off. You probably mean this one from a couple years back. It is one of my favorites.

I have been thinking about a trailer. Sounds like a good way to go. What kind of set-up do you have that allows you to winch the logs onto the trailer. A picture maybe. Do you stage up the logs in the woods first then go get the trailer. Seems like the trailer would be in the way while you were cutting and repositioning for the initial winch out of the woods and onto the trail unless you can fill the trailer from one spot.

I have modified my trailer. Removed side boards and middle stake. . So I lift the logs on using my logging winch. There is a steel arch that the hydraulic cylinder was attached to work the dump. I chain a pulley to the top of this arch, run the winch cable through. I use the logging winch to hoist the logs up onto the trailer.

As for staging the logs.. Sometimes I do and sometimes i just winch the tree trailer side cut it up 8 feet and winch them on. The trailer is licensed for the road so I disconnect from tractor and connect it to the truck and haul it home.

I have a boom that will swing out over side. Just never attached it to the trailer yet.

As for trailer being in the way I park the tractor on a bit of an angle the cable runs along side trailer. Sometimes I run the cable through the pulley and winch from there. Not much tipping after the trailer has 500 pounds of logs on.

Ps. I upgraded my tractor to a L4740 kubota.
