I have approval for a 60" tiller for my Kioti CK27H!!!!!
I am most likely getting a KK2. I have found a new one for $1450 USD about 150 miles away in Michigan. I am in Toronto. Al the local dealers want over $2000 for a similar product.
Feel free to talk me into something else. :)

I do not think you could be tilling this weekend, it is too cold out.
The temperature was -18 C or about 0 F.

How do you plan on running the border, one or both sides I am sure will want duty.

Hahaha. Way too cold to till.

I import all the time for my business so I am quite versed in crossing procedures. I import a couple times a month. Actually been there twice since new years. :)

Craig, I will be exempt Michigan sales tax but have to pay HST on the total amount to Canada border services agency. Still way cheaper than buying locally.

Cheers.

Almost all tractors and implements now enter Canada duty free. Only the GST/HST must be paid. US customs don't care it CBSA that does.

Chris do you import on a B3? I'll be bringing in the subframe I purchased from RickB this week.

I do B3's for all my business importing and drive it across the border. When it's personal stuff I just claim as personal.
FYI, anything made in the US or Mexico is duty free under Nafta but you are still required to pay HST.
Also, in my dozens of personal shopping trips and shopping trips that friends and family have made I have never heard of anyone paying actual duty. Just HST.
Could you imagine the nightmare the CBSA would have trying to figure out country of origin and tarriff numbers/duty rates for each and every item a person declares?? It simply does not happen. Ever. If you spend $100, they charge you HST on the $100 and send you on your way.

pickeringchris, I do the auction route quite abit and these guys are neighbours of mine. They sell everything and anything, have more than 500 tractors in stock and 10 acres of equipment. They sell kk and a pile of other brands. My buddy bought 1 new 60" kk in the crate last year and I don't remember the price but it was cheaper than anywhere around. They are a Horst dealer too if you are looking for anything from them. Email or call them and they can give you a price, they do delivery too but I would suggest driving up with some spare cash and going home with a few other deals too. They have a bunch of Kioti's and Kioti equipment sitting there too. They were unloading 2 tractor trailer loads of Kioti loaders last week when I was there. Buckets, buckets and more buckets and tires and rims too. My wife hates it when I go there, I always come home with something.

Thanks Cantoo!!!!!

Here is a pic of their ad.
5'. KKII. $2200 + tax = $2486

Driving to the US Price at today's exchange rate. $1486cdn + tax = $1680.

Huge difference and only about 1 hour (total) more travel time to Michigan.

We get rocked in Canada on product. :-(

Yeah, they are a cash talks place. That price is for one with a slip clutch too so make sure you are comparing same units. I buy most of my lawn equipment parts in Michigan. My wife makes several trips to J. Thomas every year and we use a " storage place" for a shipping address in Port Huron, ship there and we pick it up whenever someone is over. My son buys sleds and jet skis over there too. I'm only 1 1/2 hrs from Port Huron. Exchange rate is good right now too.

Ya. The slip clutch is standard issue on a KK2.
I have a po box in Niagara falls NY. That is a lot closer to me than Michigan.

Cheers

The only problem I foresee with that tiller is you will want a bigger pumkin patch.
I have a 5' for mine and have about 6500 sq/ft total in 2 garden plots. Each time I till, Spring & Fall I go over it twice because I get done too soon, not enough seat time. Figure if I spend 5 minutes hooking it up, should be able to run it an hour or more before taking it off.
