I 'm looking at getting a grapple for my L3240 , I think the weight of it might be to heavy for it (600lbs) I think that I can lift around 1580lbs with my loader . what do you think ? What's the weight of your grapple that you have compared to your Max. lift of your loader? I want one that's built to last so is 600lbs way over kill for this tractor?

There are a lot of variables with that question.

What will you be lifting, how much was the grapple? A 600lbs grapple on that loader would not be my first choice. However, if you're only lifting light stuff and you got a killer deal, well.. A little too heavy grapple is better than no grapple at all.

For reference, my loader can handle around 2000lbs. The grapple I use weighs 500lbs. This gives me around 1500 lbs of usuable capacity. You only need to decide if the difference in your senrio is acceptable.

There sure are. I think as your loader capacity gets greater the attachment weight becomes less important, to a point. My loader has a 900 lb. lift and my grapple weighs #100. This gives me the most lift capacity I can get. Do you want sheer volume or dexterity? That is another question I would ask.

I had a L3130 Kubota,no way I would have put a 600# grapple on it.Need to go lighter.My want to look at a thumb and tooth-bar.

I bought an Anbo grapple in the GRM line and it is a light grapple(less than 400#). my loader is similar in size and strength to your grapple. I have an L4400 with a 703A loader. I notice how much I appreciate the light weight when lifting large rocks and logs.

Not knowing what loader you have, I'm assuming you have a LA524 which kubota sells for the L3200 tractors. According to the kubota spec. sheet the lift capicity at the pins is 1131# and at aprox. 19" forward it drops to 855# if this is the case ( and we all know that spec. sheets published on the net aren't always correct) then a 600# grapple might be pushing the loader close to it's capabilities. I ran into this with my old B3300, all sorts of neat things out there to use but to heavy for my tractor. Anyway it's a just a little fuel for thought.

I have a WR Long RBG-2 that lists as 365 lbs. - a little heavier than the bucket. Tractor is a L4310 loader capcity is ~ 1500 lbs.

The grapple seems to be about the right balance. I wouldn't go any wider than 60" (my bucket is 68")

Another thing to think about is if you go narrower you can drop weight and still have strength. I run a 48" on my MX5100 and the width is great, often can fit it where the bigger ones won't and I have no problem grabbing large items.

How much do you think you need to lift?

Another thing to think about is a grapple can be like forks and put the load way forward of the pins. Your 1,000 lb capacity won't be 1,000 lbs at the front of the grapple. 600 lbs seems like overkill. Grapples are pretty tough, but I would rather have the grapple fail than the SSQA or loader.

Hey folks,
I didn't even consider his L3240 could be a Grand L model, if so I referenced the wrong loader. The GL model loaders are much larger capicity. Sorry about that, it's not the first time I showed the world my intellegence or lack there of.
