Return it for a refund and buy a Wildkat. We're all happy with ours and it costs a heck of a lot less.

I agree. I just got my wildkat a couple of weeks ago and have yet to get it hooked up. This grapple is way over build for my tractor and the price was unbelievable.

Most of the ones I've been looking at are 1/2".
What I would like to know is how one made out of 3/8" holds up? anyone?
It really does look like it was well built.

If you have a grapple competently made out of T-1 steel it could be a fine item. That is hi strength steel. The strength will make up for the thinner metal everywhere except the projected part of the tines. If well done these will have some evident side bracing to prevent breakage at their root. If it is indeed T-1, and done well, it is a lightweight but strong grapple. Many times, excess implement weight on a loader is a liability.

Red, sometimes the 48" is hard to find on the site, just call them, that's the way you get the best deal anyway.

Could have been an honest mistake. They did confess they screwed up, and refunded you a portion....and then did change their ad.
I just bought a grapple myself at a ritchie bros auction. It's also 3/8". I believe (with my limited knowledge) that most grapples are.
Unless you're really needing 1/2", I think you're better off with 3/8'. The extra weight can go to payload.
You could return it and get the wildcat....and save some serious $$$. Except for the hassle factor....good luck with your decision!

My Markham grapple rake is 3/8 steel and I had them put 1/2" steel on the outside tines when I ordered it. I think 3/8" is plenty strong enough for what I do (mostly woods work), but your situation may be different. I wonder if $75 is about what an upgrade from 3/8 to 1/2 would have cost?

My grapple bottom-bucket is 1/2" steel, & for my L3940 it's really too thick, as in too heavy. Sure, it's indestructible, but I can't curl stuff with it nearly as heavy as I can with my Kubota bucket. I think you're actually better off with 3/8".

Buck and MP, thx guys I exchanged e-mails with Anita-its the one listed as 48" Economy- My delivered price to Mass. is 700 bucks and change. A buddy of mine is at the Lyon Bros Auction in Fla this week and next for Ritchie Bros. I've been to both of their web sites and can't seem to find anuything-although nothing was really coming up on the RB site.

I would be using this with my Deere 4720, 58 HP- I am not a cowboy so it should be adequate. Its also not too heavy that one of my kids can't use on his 2520. Plus all you guys have been nothing but positive about Wildkat.
