What size grapple do you recommend for moving brush piles with a 75hp JD tractor? 48, 60 or 72"?

If the sole purpose is to move brush, I would say the 72". If the grapple is to be multipurpose for moving things and digging out rocks, etc, I would say the 48".

The primary purpose will be to move brush piles. I will admit, however, that the piles can sometimes contain 10 foot sections of trees that may be 10" or more in diameter. I will be making a purchase in the next week or two. I am considering the 60" model as a compromise between the 48" and 72" models. Any thoughts?

The 60" would be a good compromise. I am not sure what the outside width of your tires is. You may want to be able to clear a path for your tires, but if not and you don't plan to dig rocks, a 60" may be a good choice. The wider and more teeth you have, the less ability you will have to dig the teeth into the ground to uproot rocks or roots. The narrower the less weight the grapple will be which is good when you have limited lift. Remember to calculate the weight of the grapple when you figure what you will be able to lift.

I got the dual top piston 72" grapple. I could spend all day around my house and couldn't scrap up a wheelbarrow worth of dirt....all ledge. I am using it to clean up brush and for firewood.
