Here is the picture(collage)I promised of the 3pt carrier I built for my 2710. It is about 4'x3'x3' (wxdxh) and is made of 1 5/8" u channel with 2x4 bottom and plywood sides. The top link pin is attatched via 2 large (and rusty I might add) nuts that I welded on(they came off lift pins I bought for this). Works pretty well. I would say that I can carry 1/2 to 2/3 face cord of wood back there. 1500-2000lbs maybe?

Jon -

Nice job! /w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif

I can imagine all sorts of uses for such a carrier.

Hey, maybe you can tell me -- where did you get your lift pins? I don't have a tractor supply place within easy driving distance. Did you by chance find them on the internet?

Jon,
Is your FEL enough counter balance for when you go up hills with that much weight on the back.

Even looks beefy enough to haul good size rocks.

Jon, DFB -

Thanks for the CountryAndFarm tip. /w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif

I ordered some lift pins and an SMV placard. Had to resist ordering a lot more. /w3tcompact/icons/crazy.gif

The loader weight alone is fine but the front end becomes a little light so I like to have it full too. In fact I loaded the front and back with wood and then went and pulled my brother in-law's Dakota 4wd out of the mud with no problem. (in his truck's defense, the 4wd wasn't working/w3tcompact/icons/frown.gif)
Here is the hill. It's steeper than it looks!

Jon,
Do you rear tire chains even with a full load going up the steep hill when its muddy?

Looks like you got some good hardwoods.

It's amazing but I really don't need them. It "walks" through the mud with a full load. And yes, some nice hardwoods. Like 30" cherry!
