I made a hitch that looks close to yours. I bought the square tube
steel then bought the two inch sleeve and welded the whole mess together. I put a 2 5/6'' ball on top for moving my goose neck trailers around.
With the price of steel and labor, I think you did very well.
I really don,t see how they can sell it for that.
And on the other thing, I am with you, I didn't know H-e-l-l- was a censored word.

yeah im a novice welder. i just dont know where to start with things like this. i do minor repair work. Plus i dont have my machine to take measurements. I figure the only way to pass time waiting for the machine is to get excited and purchase things for it at fairly decent prices. Would love to see a pic of what you fabbed up when you get a chance buddy

I bought an old bolt on receiver hitch at an auction for $15.00. Cut off the brackets and welded on new ones for the three point. Works pretty well.

Yep, he!! and dam are censored for some strange reason. One can hear those words in a PG-13 flick.

Anyway, back on topic...I don't see how the guy can make any money on them, especially since the link also said "Free Shipping." But if it's a quality product and everyone is happy; who cares if the manufacturer makes a buck on them or not.

Shortthrow, here are some pictures of my hitch. As you can see it is a lot
like the one you ordered. I did add some tow hooks in back for dragging logs and such and the ball on top for the goose necks. The two inch receiver came from harbor freight. I welded a 2 inch and a 2 5/16 ball to some stock I had on hand so it would fit any of my bumper pull trailers by just flipping it over.
The flat steel on the braces is half inch and the square stock is one quarter
by three inches. The steel for the top link and lift arm pins is 3/4 inch.
To heavy, but I already had the plate steel and it will hold up to any
medium size tractor as I think yours will also.

hey thanks for those pictures. that is a pretty clever setup! it looks as though it is constructed in the same manner as the one i ordered from that fabricator. I take it that the peice i ordered will be well constructed as you he used the same idea as yours in the way of constructed it although yours is way more beefed up. Ill take some pics of it when it arrives. I got noticed it was shipped out already this morning. As per the listing, 17 have been sold and all with very positive feedback on its quality

Very nice, and I think that is a great price! I like the way they bent the triangle to make the upright, which should give it a lot of strength. Looks like it should hold up and give you many years of use.

I welded up something similar, but like fenix I put a 2 5/16 ball on the top so it can be used to move gooseneck trailers as well. The only things I bought were the receiver tube (~$20, but I only used half of it, so I have another half for another project), and the ball for the gooseneck (~$15), I was able to get everything else for free. The bottom is 3x3 square tubing, with 1/4" walls, and the upright is 2.5x2.5 square tubing with 1/4" walls also. The little gusset is 1/2" plate, and the pieces that the pins mount in are either 1/2" or 5/8", I don't remember. The two at the top the the toplink hooks to are 1/4". Something I have considered doing, but not gotten around to, is welding a 3/8" grab hook on the bottom tube, one on each side of the upright.
