If you can't find a replacement a welding shop may be able to repair it.

Would you have any idea how old this sickle bar mower is all I know is it's a JD 350 . I was hoping to find a web site that give me some info on the thing , eBay has a manual I just ordered for $ 20.. Other than that maybe a site that sells new old stock

Had the bar welded up and looks good. Now how the heck do you hook it up. It's not as easy as it's looks how does it pick up off the ground .....with the chains and or springs any one have a clue ... Thanks

There is suppose to be a chain or cable coming off the front of the mower that hooks to your tractor drawbar. You cannot raise the cutter bar unless this is hooked in. Ken Sweet

Ok there is a chain with a pin that attaches to the draw bar ..I hooked it up and the chains that attach to the gear box are loose and it won't lift off the ground.. So I think there is some way to lift the mower off the ground and give the spring some tension .....I'm close but have never hooked one up,I have looked all over trying to find a picture of the proper way to hook it up with no luck..Paul

Can you post a picture of where you are so far? Also, one trick is to make sure your drawbar is as far in as it will go, and swung to the side so the sickle bar attachment is straight down from the mower.

The springs have loops on each end. Try increasing tension on main bar spring by moving loops to another (shorter) position on the chains. Ken Sweet
