I did a search on TBN and found one other poster that said he bought some clamp on pallet forks on ebay for $159.00 that had a 1,200 lb. capacity ..he did not post a link but I found these on ebay and ordered them...the seller has 100% positive feedback and my FEL only has about a 1,200 lb. capacity anyway so I hope these will work for what I need them for.

Clamp on Bucket Loader Forks Tractor Pallet Forks LD | eBay

I am just going to use them to move some downed trees...not too big and load my 55 gallon diesel tank on my pallet up onto the truck when I need to get it refilled...seemed like a good price to me.

Just be careful with them because they are stronger than the lip of your bucket which can bend. Rigging a chain from the bottom of the bucket to the top on both sides at the clamps helps. Also if the top edge of the bucket is thin think about welding a full length piece of angle iron one to it to give you some beef to anchor the chains to.

Thanks Blue....I look forward to getting them ...I remember years ago when I first got an FEL ...I could not believe how I ever got along without it...use it for everything...glad to hear you are saying these forks will come in handy for many other uses...

Thanks for the tip.....I will be very cautious when using them until I see what they will do...and before I damage them , if I see I am lifting real heavy stuff then I will weld some reinforcement on .

Teg, I sure will post back my experience with them...can't wait to get them..I have some storm damaged trees and limbs pushed against a fence line right now that I need these to move..

See this is exactly the kind of things I am going to be using mine for...I'm not sure I completely understand the telescoping bracket to hold them at various widths...I understand the need but don't know exactly how to make them.

Hope they are what you expect. I have been considering those for a while so a report on what you think after you get them will be appreciated.

Will do Gordon...I hope they are what I expect too...we'll see.

brin, like a lot of things in life, there are plus's and minus's to them.
They do work and they are useful. I had a set of them for a while . I had no bucket bending damage, but the heaviest thing I picked up was about 600 lbs. They did leave some swirl marks from the clamps in the bucket. For pluses: They work, and they are cheap, and they may be all you need, and can be stored conveniently. Minus side: You cannot see them from the operators station, The bucket obscures them. You almost need a spotter sometimes to hook on to a pallet, depending on how long they are. They stick out 2 extra feet than SSQA pallet forks. reducing your lift capacity. They tend to "scissor" and come off when you go in reverse sometimes.. (the chain on ones eliminate the come off problem) but they still "scissor" some. I converted mine to chain on. Bottom line If you dont have SSQA and don't plan on investing in it (expensive to retrofit, I know:eek:) and your needs are modest then they will be a good thing. I got good use out of mine but, really wanted the SSQA pallet forks so I sold them to a member on here. let us know how you get along with them.
