Tractor
Kabota L3130
This past summer I bought a new to me used Kubota L3130 tractor. I have been looking into buying a grapple and thought I could use the wisdom from the many members of TBN. This is a great site with so much knowledge! I know there are alot of grapple threads on here and I have read through many of them. Maybe being a bit lazy I thought I could get opinions from you all on my specific tractor. I was wondering what would be the best grapple for my tractor at a reasonable price and what is the best way to operate the grapple? Third function? My uses would be moving brush and small trees( cut to size to be handled ) to burn piles. I do have a rear remote to operate a backhoe. Again, I am sorry about another grapple thread and appreciate the knowledge and wisdom of the many members of TBN. Thank you for your thoughts and time.

Are you looking for a full grapple or adding a thumb to your bucket or forks?
I had a L3130 with the 723 loader,I see yours is a Woods.I assume about the same capacity(1500lbs) or so.Carefull with a full grapple as far as weight of the grapple, too heavy and you reduce lifting capacity.I added a thumb to my bucket and that only added about 250lbs.

Thanks nybirdman, I like that thumb and will have to look into to those a little more. Originally, I was thinking of a 48" dedicated grapple mostly because of weight issues. I don't want one that is so heavy as to take away most of my lifting capacity. What did you do for the hydraulics to it?

Ya ,the thumb with a tooth-bar works for me.I had my dealer install the Kubota third function kit($1,000.00).Myself and others have had problems with it;I would look to W.R.Long for a kit for yours.

Darrenone,
There could never be to my grapple threads !! You can always learn something new it seem from each one. It seems that there is a lot of guys that have bought the 48" Mini Econo Grapple and talk highly of it .I think I saw it was around 420lbs. They seem to have a good price range and diff. styles to chose from. (www.wildkatattachments) . I run my grapple off my rear remotes and it seems to work out fine ,and the cost is cheaper to hook it up .

I have an ATI bolt on grapple which I am very happy with. Doesn't look mean like some grapples do but does a real good job for me. And it is there all the time w/o changing impliments. At first I had it on a rear remote. Then I wanted to use the remotes for a TnT so I added a second valve above my FEL valve for the grapple. That project is discribed in these two threads if your interested in something likre that.
