Front-End Loader What am I missing?

I recently purchased a used JD 2210 with the 210 FEL. I finally have gotten around to really work with it, and wanted to try removing the 210 FEL. I did my best to follow the removal directions from both the manual and the side of the implement itself, but I can't seem to get the arms to come off the frame and/or the stand to lower to the ground. I have leveled the bucket on my concrete slab, removed the front pins, put the tractor in neutral; but when it comes time to extend the cylinders, it just lifts the bucket off the ground again. I am totally new to this kind of machine, but I can follow directions. What am I missing?

Seems like you are missing something. The way mine works is
1) Raise FEL half way
2) Lock stand arms in down position
3) Put bucket in dump position
4) Slowly lower FEL until bucket cutting edge rests on floor ( still in dump )
5) Slowly curl bucket until stand arms rest on floor ( rear of bucket still off floor )
6) Remove frame pins
7) Slowly curl bucket some more until bucket bottom is flat on floor. FEL will lift out of frame as bucket is curled.

If that doesnt seem right to you then you will have to wait for better help

That's what works for me. I've only had mine off once in three years.

BTW - Welcome to TBN. Just noticed you were a new member.

Are your loader arms releasing from the frame or are they somehow jammed in ? Can you tell ?
I am not following you when you say your stand does not get to the floor. Maybe explain a little more.

Thanks. The arms must be jammed as they don't release from the frame, I just can't figure out how to remedy the situation. The built-in stand moves slightly (where I release the pins) but then drops back in as I extend the lift cylinders. I know I am not the sharpest knife, but I am at a loss...

You should be retracting the cylinders, not extending them. Are you pulling the loader stick back (as if raising the bucket) or pushing forward (as if lowering the bucket)?

Pics of the stand and the frame where you believe it is "stuck" might help us out more.

But pretty much what everyone said.

Have you used the loader recently? If not, it could be things have rusted a little tight. Maybe try digging some dirt for a few minutes and see if things loosen up???

I just looked at the manual Roy posted. Your set up is totally different than mine so you probably already figured out to ignor that stuff. Sorry if I confused you. Us Kubota owners are like that.

If it is not separating from the frame and you are sure the pins are pulled and not catching I would try putting something heavy in the bucket. A hundred pounds or so to hold it down and then try to remove it. Being new and fairly light, maybe everything is just a little tight around that frame connection and the weight of the empty bucket isn't enough to pop it off. If that doesn't work something may be bent.

Keep in mind that if it comes off hard. it might go back on hard also.

LD/Gordon, you were right on the money. It apparently hadn't been off in a while, so it needed a little encouragement via some weight in the bucket to loosen up. It's off now and hopefully it will go more simply to reattach when I need it.
